Venison in a crock? Possible?

Soon I will have to cook up this giant Venison roast. I would like to cook it in the crock. I am however used to oven cooking, soaking and brining such a wild piece of meat.

Please tell me that someone here has had success with cooking Venison in the crock. I can get rid of the game taste and toughness by using the oven. But....can I do this in a crock?

I have to admit I have not cooked Venison in a slow cooker but if it's a roast there is no way in the world it cannot be done. In fact, I'm sure of it. Snooping around the interwebs found this little gem:

Ingredients:
3 pounds boneless venison roast
1 large onion, sliced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream
of mushroom soup
Directions:

Put cleaned meat in slow cooker and cover with onion. Sprinkle with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and pepper.

In a small bowl combine the soup mix and the soup; mix together and pour mixture over venison. Cook on Low setting for 6 hours.

Looks like this one has 4 and a half stars out of 5 too.
