Placing meals in the freezer ahead of time can be such a time saver. It is great to have items ready in ziplock bags to be pulled out of the freezer in an instant and placed in the crockpot. Here are some tips for creating healthy freezer crockpot meals:

    • Choose recipes you like to eat and consider preparing a few batches for freezing.

    • Try to use as much unprocessed foods as possible in your ingredients list.

    • Add more vegetables to create a more healthy recipe.

    • Use a food chopper to speed the process of recipe preparation as long as it does not take away from the form of of the food item.

    • Use freezer labels, or write on the ziplock bag with sharpie marker (recipe, ingredients, directions, servings, ect.)

    • Organize like recipes, for example chicken recipes together.

Do you have some tips for creating healthy freezer crockpot meals you would like to share? We would love to hear them!

If you don't like to do a lot of prep work all at once then plan a few meals for the week where you buy double or triple amonts of the ingredients,. When you prepare dineer for that day, double or triple it and freeze the leftovers. You've done the prep work once and made 2 or 3 mrals from the effort If you do this with 2 or 3 meals every week, at the end of a month you'll have 11 to 24 meals in the freezer depending how often you do it and whether you double or triple your batch, with basically no extra prep time.

Thanks for the tip TheresaL. I for one do not like to do a lot of prep work. However, following your suggestion of just a few meals for the week is doable for me. Thanks.
