Sautéing vegetables, such as carrots and onions, prior to slow cooking softens them and improves the flavor of the meal. Do you do this or do you just put everything in the crockpot raw?

If I am in a rush, I use raw veggies in my recipes. I do take some veggies and freeze them so I can easily pull them out and add to recipes, too.

I do the same as you and never bothered to sauté anything before throwing it in the crockpot. I really don't see that it would make that much of a difference anyway.

I do the same too. When I'm in a rush I just put everything in the pot. But if I have time, I will Sauté. It does enhance the flavor.
