I love making vegetable beef soup on those cold days during the winter. I start off by browning hamburger and/or Hillshire Farm's smoked beef kielbasa. I then drain the grease from the meat and put the meat into the crockpot. Following the meat goes onion slices, potatoes and carrots. I also put in cans of peas, sweet corn, tomatoes and tomato sauce. After all of the ingredients are in the crock pot I turn it on low and let it cook away all day long. It is so good with crackers, grilled cheese or corn bread. It really warms a person up on those cold days.

What are your favorite soup ingredients?

Along with all your ingredients listed above, I usually add celery. I don't add tomatoes though. I might give that a try.

For some reason I am not too keen on celery in soups or stews. I normally like my celery fresh and not cooked. It just does not taste right to me cooked. Give the tomatoes a try.
