    What won't you buy online?

I generally don't buy anything online that I would need to know the size for; except for my kids. I won't buy my shoes or theirs online though because I hate returning and the hassle involved so I would rather go to the store. I don't buy big ticket items online either because I am afraid they...

    Crock Pot Ranch Chicken Recipe

I have made a variation of this with chicken broth and Italian seasoning. It was amazing and the chicken is so tender. We served ours over egg noodles.

Washing Raw Chicken can Increase Cross Contamination

I never have washed my chicken before using it and actually never knew that people did. I have never had a problem with salmonella poisoning, although I always make sure to clean up after chicken juice or raw chicken touches anything. Oddly enough, I even own an iguana and have never run into...

What are your plans for the 4th of July?

I have not even started thinking about the fourth yet. We will probably just do something simple like a small cookout and then some fireworks. Or, we may go down to the beach and watch them set off fireworks. That is always fun.

You could ball up some aluminum foil and put it in the bottom of the crock pot. This may work. I know it is recommended for other recipes.

My dr. wants me to eat more sugar to expand my stomach

I agree. I think you should try smoothies. They are a great way to add in the things you need. I personally love smoothies and have tried all different types. You can even add in scoops of protein powders, vitamins, etc. as you see fit for your needs.

Do you like to cook ahead and put meals in the freezer?

I have never really frozen any meals. Do you find that they taste just as good? Do you use special containers to prevent freezer burn? I am always afraid to freeze meat, particularly steaks or roasts because I am afraid they will be tougher or not taste the same.

How much decorations do you put up on your house?

I love decorating, although I will do it much more once my kids learn to stop touching everything. I do not set any type of glass decorations or anything out and we limit how many decorations we put near the bottom of the tree as the kids will just pull them off.

    Adapting Recipes for the Crockpot

Christine, I personally like browning my meat and deglazing the pan before I put the meat in the slow cooker. I like the browned ends on my meat so I enjoy doing it; however, I have never done it in the oven in addition. I have also put meat into the crockpot without browning it first and it...

    Adapting Recipes for the Crockpot

I had my first flop with dairy in the crockpot not too long ago. I was making sour cream and cheese potatoes and I added the cheese at the beginning and by the time it was done it was curdled and separated. I felt bad but now I know next time to add it later.
